Die Installation, sowie Performance “what an entrance” untersucht den Moment des Auftritts und die Erwartungen des Publikums an ihn. Dieser Moment ist ein sehr fragiler Zwischenzustand von Gelingen oder Scheitern, der in der Bewertung durch das Publikum entsteht.

Spannungen werden aufgebaut, Erwartungen geschürt, herausgefordert und nicht unbedingt erfüllt.
Aneinanderreihungen von zum Teil abstrakten Handlungen spielen auf die Situation des Auftritts, der Probe und des vermeintlich Privaten an. Es geht nicht darum, wie auf der klassischen Theaterbühne Geschichten zu erzählen, sondern Atmosphären zu schaffen, die im Kopf des Publikums zu einem Ganzen zusammen wachsen können. Am Ende wurde nichts erzählt, aber um so mehr ist passiert; und viele Assoziationsmöglichkeiten stehen im Raum.

The installation as well as the performance “what an entrance” investigates the moment of entering a stage and the expectations of the audience towards that entry. This particular moment is a very fragile interstage between success and failure and the subsequent judgement of the audience. Attention is being build, expectations fuelled, challenged and not necessarily realised. 

A sequence of partly abstract acts hint at the situation of an entrance, a rehearsal or an allegedly private moment. It is not about telling a story like on a classical theatre stage but about creating atmospheres that grow into a whole inside the audience heads. In the end nothing much was being told but so much more happened. Many possibilities for association form. 

In der Performance nimmt das Scheitern einen wesentlichen Teil ein. Der Versuch und das darin inbegriffene Tun stehen im Mittelpunkt. Zuerst gibt es den Gedanken (Idee) bzw. das Nachdenken über etwas, dann ein Ausprobieren (Aktion) und daraufhin ein Passieren (Reaktion).

In der Aktion liegen - zumindestens für einen Moment - alle Möglichkeiten. Erst dann kristallisiert sich eine sichtbare Richtung heraus, wobei auch hier noch nicht hundertprozentig festliegt, wie es weiter gehen wird.

Genau diese Schwankungen, diese Unsicherheiten interessieren mich; die Möglichkeiten, die daraus entspringen, dass etwas nicht so geschieht, wie erwartet.
Die Performance beschäftigt sich mit dem vermeintlich privaten Auftrittsmoment und der Frage von Inszenierung.

During the performance failure plays and important role. The attempt and linked to that the doing are centre stage. First there is the thought (idea) or rather the thinking about something, then the attempt (action) and thereupon the happening (reaction).

Within the action lies - at least for a short moment - any imaginable possibility. Only afterwards a visible route emerges.However, even then, it is no one hundred procent clear how the show will continue.

It is exactly those fluctuations and uncertainties that interest me; possibilities that arise from situations that do not happen as expected.
The performance deals with the alleged private moment of entry and the question of staging. 

Die fiktive Figur STARLET, die sich normalerweise nur vor der Bühne aufhält, wird diesmal dahinter gezeigt. Es ist der Moment des Dazwischens: nach der Maske und kurz vor dem Auftritt. Als ob sie sich auf einer Probe befände, wo es um den Versuch geht und gleichzeitig auch schon um das Performen vor Publikum.

The fictitious character STARLET who normally only appears on stage is shown back stage. It is the moment after make-up and just before entry. As if she is at a rehearsal where it is all about trying things out but at the same time you pretend to perform in front of an imaginary audience. 

Es geht um die Zusammenführung von Performativem und Installativem: Das Ephemere der Performance trifft auf das vermeintlich Beständigere der Installation, wobei es mir wichtig ist, dass die Installation für sich alleine stehen und bleiben kann und dennoch einen performativen Raum aufmacht.

The idea is to combine Performance and Installation: ephemeral performance meets allegedly constant Installation. The Installation is an eligible piece on its own however opening up a performative space where performance infuses a change that will leave the Installation altered.
