Wer sind die wahren Kriminellen: Jene, die Flughäfen blockieren und Kunstwerke beschütten, oder jene, die Meere und Wälder zerstören? Das Rechtssystem wird zunehmend zum Schauplatz ökologischer Auseinandersetzungen.

Zeitgleich zur 30. Weltklimakonferenz in Brasilien bietet die installative Performance „JUSTITIA! Eco Criminals“ Einblicke in zwei Seiten eines hochaktuellen Konflikts und lässt das Publikum selbst wählen, welcher Perspektive des Geschehens es folgt: dem Weg der Aktivist*innen vor Gericht oder der Sicht der Konzerne. Der Abend entfaltet zwei parallele Szenarien, die beide in eine juristische Auseinandersetzung in einem zukünftigen Ökozid-Prozess münden.

„Eco Criminals“ wirft Fragen nach Klimagerechtigkeit auf und zeigt, wie Klimaklagen gegen fossile Konzerne im Kampf um eine sichere Zukunft an Bedeutung gewinnen – während Aktivist*innen immer stärker unter Anklage stehen.

Who are the real criminals: those who block airports and cover works of art with paint, or those who destroy oceans and forests? The legal system is increasingly becoming the scene of ecological disputes.

Coinciding with the 30th World Climate Conference in Brazil, the installation performance ‘JUSTITIA! Eco Criminals’ offers insights into two sides of a highly topical conflict and lets the audience choose for themselves which perspective of the events they want to follow: the path of the activists in court or the view of the corporations. The evening unfolds two parallel scenarios, both of which culminate in a legal dispute in a future ecocide trial.

‘Eco Criminals’ raises questions about climate justice and shows how climate lawsuits against fossil fuel corporations are gaining importance in the fight for a secure future – while activists are increasingly facing charges.
